A filmmaker in Valencia buys an unwanted bag for at an auction for one Euro. Upon opening it, he discoveres a mystery waiting to be solved: two unsent letters dating back to 1946 that lead him on a journey through history and halfway across the globe.

Three sisters, Ruby, Joyce and Annette, receive an invitation from their estranged father Saul inviting them to his fourth wedding. After many agreements, disagreements and fourteen hours on the road, they arrive while everybody is busy preparing for the ceremony. Odile, their new and very young stepmother, welcomes them with sangria and reveals some surprising information about one of the sisters.
