Live music + film performance lineup announced
We are thrilled to announce the lineup for the 2019 live music + film performance at Mirror Mountain Film Festival, which will be happening July 26 – 27 at Arts Court Theatre & Studio.
This year’s immersive multi-media extravaganza will be performed by Ottawa post-rock duo Novusolis, with live cinematic visuals created in real time by local media artist VJ Cinetik.
Based in Ottawa-Gatineau, Novusolis (Zachary Perron & Amanda Lowe) have created a new haven of post-rock in the local scene. Zachary steadily builds the music with intricately charming electric guitar live loops, while Amanda’s synth swells and voice sways us into a trance. Together, they are haunting, enchanting, and cinematic.
As VJ Cinetik, Eric Archambault has been creating live visuals for electronic music producers in the Ottawa-Gatineau region since 2015. Trained as an architect and documentary filmmaker, he explores the practice of live cinema using lens-based recordings of urban environments as the foundation for live visual performances. He has performed at local events including the Ottawa Art Gallery’s Opening Gala Dance at Dusk, the Not Normal Experimental / Electronic Nights organized by Low Noise Productions at Black Squirrel Books, La Nuit des Cosmonautes featuring Jeunesse Cosmique at House of Common, and Drone Day at General Assembly. Born in Montreal, he has lived in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Detroit, and as far north as Oulu, Finland.
