Mirror Mountain Film Festival (MMFF) respects the privacy of our website visitors and guests, and we do all we can to ensure a safe and secure experience. This Privacy Policy is to explain how we obtain, store, and distribute information from our visitors and guests. Definitions
Visitors – The general web-surfing public, who browses our website to access various information and other resources.

Guests – Clients who contact us through our website, and who may choose to submit their film or media art work or choose to purchase festival tickets and/or passes.

From most internet visitors, we collect very little identifying information. As is most common on the internet, standard analytics and aggregate data is used to track engagement with our website. This information helps us when tailoring web content and improving security/performance of our site.

Guests are given the option of submitting their film to MMFF, answering a questionnaire, or purchasing a festival pass or tickets through online portals. This may require providing additional information, such as contact Information (mailing addresses, phone numbers), and descriptions (company profiles, personal biographies).

Online purchases or festival submission may require credit card Information or additional log in requirements for processing.

Who is collecting this information?
MMFF does not require or collect personal information to use this website.

MMFF oversees the retrieval, organization, and distribution of the information collected from guests through its websites. While submission and ticketing services are controlled by specific websites (see submission platforms on our Submissions page) and external services (such as; PayPal and MailChimp).

Why do we collect this information?
General visitor and session information is used for statistical purposes only. This helps us to analyze how effective our website is in promoting MMFF events, and aids in improving the design and navigation of our website.

Information collected from guests is also used for statistical and promotional purposes (such as recording the number of films submitted from Canada, or advertising our events).

With whom is this information shared?
We try to be as respectful as possible to those who provide their information to us. We do not sell or freely distribute contact details or other forms of private information to third parties, without the explicit consent from the owner of such information.

Films selected to screen at MMFF are published in our festival schedule which is available for public access on our website. Filmmakers’ names, the films country of origin, artist bios and a film synopsis will be shared publicly. Some films will also be selected for additional promotion throughout the festival season.

All purchase and submission fees collected by MMFF are processed through external online payment systems. MMFF does not collect or distribute credit card or banking information.

How long do we keep this information?

Website cookies marked as “permanent” expire after 6 months from their originating date. Session-specific cookies are removed once the visitor session (ie. Browser window) is closed.

All other information collected (contacts, film submissions, profiles) is kept indefinitely, and updated and/or removed as deemed necessary by MMFF.
