CAVES
Carlos Isabel García, Switzerland, 2021, 19.5 min.
Ottawa premiere

This interactive film accompanies experienced cave explorer and mountaineer Lea Odermatt on her tours beneath the earth’s surface, through claustrophobic corridors, gigantic galleries and chambers that are otherwise visible to researchers only. Thanks to 360° video experience, it is possible to convey to a wide audience in both physical and emotional terms how it feels to crawl through narrow passages, to hang in dizzying shafts, to observe with amazement from very close quarters the fascinating halls hidden underground.
